RCIA refers to the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. It is a series of classes and gathering to prepare adults for Baptism and Confirmation in the Catholic Church. It is the principal means used to introduce the Catholic Faith to those who are desirous of becoming Catholics.
The classes meet in our parish on Tuesday evenings throughout the year. The culmination of this preparation occurs at the Vigil of Easter, the Saturday before Easter Sunday, when those who have been preparing become part of the Church.
The RCIA is open to anyone, especially those who have no knowledge or experience with religion. Young people (under 18) are provided with other classes of preparation. The RCIA is intended for adults. No commitment is required during the first phase of the RCIA which last until the end of the calendar year.
Anyone asking questions about How to Become Catholic is invited to the Inquiry Sessions or the Pre-catechumenate sessions held during the summer months on Tuesdays at 7:15pm in the Parish Hall. See the calendar for specific dates. We are here to welcome you, introduce you to the team and talk about our faith. Just come and visit child care provided.
