The Ministry of Mothers Sharing (M.O.M.S.) is an outreach ministry developed by the Sisters of St. Benedict of St. Paul's Monastery in St.Paul, Minnesota. M.O.M.S. awakens in women an awareness of their inner sacred self and teaches them new ways to inspire and affirm each other. Through this personal and spiritual growth, women claim their own giftedness and bring these gifts to the Christian Community.

Since 1992, M.O.M.S. has touched over 250,000 women and their families in over 100 dioceses. Over 3, 000 parishes have initiated this ministry. In 1999, the National M.O.M.S. Office opened at St. Paul's Monastery. Today there are ten Regional Coordinators established in the Dioceses of Dallas, Dubuque, Indianapolis, Knoxville, Newark, Omaha, Orlando, Phoenix, St. Augustine and Venice.

Objectives

To gather mothers together to form a network of mutual spiritual support in a chaotic society.

To provide a group experience of learning, praying, and ministering to each other.

To introduce mothers to opportunities of personal and spiritual growth in a faith sharing group.

To increase communication skills and the use of prayer rituals in the home.

Structure

M.O.M.S. is a parish-based peer ministry. M.O.M.S.: A Personal Journal is used as a guide through the series of eight sessions.
