Essential Conditions for the First Reception of Reconciliation
Understanding sin and the difference between serious and
less serious sin are crucial concepts for the reception
of the sacrament of Reconciliation. For this reason, the
church wisely leaves the decision of readiness in the hands
of the parents.
Parents Responsibilities
Parents are required to attend the Reconciliation meeting.
This meeting will provide parents with information on how
to help prepare their child for this sacrament. They will
also receive a home study book that will help to prepare
their child for the worthy reception of this sacrament.
For Children Enrolled in the Home Study Program
(3rd-6th Grades)
Specific classes on reconciliation are offered for you.
These classes meet on Tuesday evenings. An information letter
will be sent to you in the Fall with specific dates.
