Children's Liturgy of the Word takes place during the "Liturgy of the Word" section of the Mass. All children ages 4 years through First Grade are invited to participate at the Saturday evening Mass, or on Sundays at the 8am, 10am or Noon Masses. The children are invited to come to the altar for a blessing, and then are led to the chapel by the adult facilitators. The readings they hear are from the children's lectionary and correspond with the readings the adults are hearing in the church. Following the readings the children enter into a discussion of the readings they heard, and how they can relate them to their life. The children recite the Apostle's Creed, and participate in their own Prayers of the Faithful. Returning to Mass occurs following the Prayers of the Faithful. Parents, please watch for your children when they return from their Liturgy of the Word during Mass. Some of our little ones are confused, and it would help if they knew you were expecting them!
