The group of people who work here have been carefully selected for their educational background, training in early childhood education, and their experiences working with young children. They have exhibited a great sensitivity to the needs of young children.
Rainbow Days has a wonderful staff of 29 loving, caring individuals. The following will introduce you to the Director of Children's Ministries and the Rainbow Days Coordinator:
Julie Buchanan is the Director of Children's Ministries at St. Jude. Children's Ministries encompasses all programs that involve children and their families - from the nursery through the 6th grade. She and her husband, Keith, and their three children have lived in Allen for many years and have been very active in the parish since it's founding in 1981. Julie has a Masters Degree in Education from UTD, has completed the Catchiest Training Program through John Paul Institute in Dallas and brings over 25 years experience in religious education to the programs we offer. Julie's vision for the children at St. Jude and the volunteers in Children's Ministries is to make the programs interesting, fun and filled with opportunities to grow in their Catholic faith.
Liz Moore is the Rainbow Days Preschool Coordinator. She has been involved with the preschool program for 17 years. She and her husband Randy, and their two children have lived in Allen for many years and are very active in the life of St. Jude Parish. Liz has a degree from TWU in Elementary Education with a Kindergarten Endorsement, and many years of training on child development. Liz likes seeing children develop in their many different ways and says that at Rainbow Days each child is worked with and helped at whatever stage of development they are at. Also, Liz likes the children’s spontaneous language, hugs, and trust in their teacher. She enjoys meeting all the parents too!
