The parishioners of St. Jude Catholic Church are answering God's call to serve one another. For the past several months, our parish has worked diligently to improve and increase our efforts in "Peace and Justice."
We are proud to announce that we have already accomplished many positive things. For example, the high school teens and college-aged young men and women from our parish travel to Mexico every year to assist parishes in need. Our successful Well Project provides clean drinking water to children who are suffering and dying from contaminated water sources. St. Jude houses the Allen Community Outreach Food Pantry, collects resale items monthly for Catholic Charities, and supports outreach and pro-life organizations such as Russian orphanages, Project Gabriel and White Rose.
The future is now. In the coming months, St. Jude will be planning further improvements in how our parish can make a difference through God's grace and guidance. We have created a database of parish volunteers who are interested in reaching out to families in need or crisis. More than 100 names are on the list so far, and we look forward to adding many more. Yard work, minor home and vehicle repairs, childcare, meals for fellow parishioners in need - a diverse range of talents and a willingness to offer some of your time will ensure that our efforts at St. Jude are a wonderful success. We encourage you to join this database list. Just keep an eye on the parish Website (stjudeparish.com). We will have direct links available this summer so you can get involved and/or let us know of your needs or those of someone else in our parish or community.
St. Jude parishioners are loving and generous. That's all we need to create a foundation of service and the spirit of giving. What begins in our own community can only spread throughout every home and every heart.
