...whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.

We offer visible and tangible signs of God's love and comfort to people in need. We crochet many different items. Here are some examples:

Prayer squares are given to individuals and to families who are in crisis. Even when your heart is empty and you cannot pray, you can hold a prayer square. This can be your prayer. It is a sign that you know you need God's help, and that you believe He will help you.

Rosaries are given to individuals in crisis. Some of our rosaries are given to Prayer Warriors who stand in front of abortion mills and pray the rosary.

Camouflage colored rosaries are given to people in the service and/or their families.

Baby blankets are given to babies in crisis.

Baby hats and booties are donated to the White Rose. Pregnant women come to this crisis pregnancy center and they receive whatever they need to give life to their babies.

Senior citizens receive lap quilts.

We provide leprosy bandages that are used in India.

Day workers receive warm hats for the winter.

We meet on the 2nd and the 4th Thursdays of each month from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m.

As we crochet, we pray for the person who will receive our work. Everyone is welcome to join us! Even if you have never crocheted, you are welcome to come and learn! That is what several of us did!

If you cannot attend the meetings, but you want to serve in this ministry, you can! Most of our crocheting is done outside of the meeting time anyway!

Another way some of you could help is to obtain donated yarn and thread for us. Perhaps a friend of yours has some yarn or crochet thread that will not be used. Don't throw it away! We accept donated yarn and thread for our work!

If you know someone who needs a sign of God's love and comfort, come to us. Come and share His love. We also ask that you pray for our ministry. May God's love touch many souls through the crochet ministry!

Prayers of the St. Brigid's Crochet Ministry

Heavenly Father, up above
Surround us with your arms of love.
May we know your will today,
Never from your path to stray.
Thank you for the gifts you give
And for allowing us to live
Secure in faith, and your love, too
Always warm and safe with you.

Lord, may the prayer blankets surround those little ones lost and forgotten with your love and comfort and with the hope of finding a loving home and family.

Lord, give strength to those who use these blankets struggling to live in your precious world and the courage to face the challenges ahead in order to sustain life.

Lord, may these blankets be a reminder of those lost in their struggles for life and live on in the hearts of their loved ones and be like little angles watching over them.

Lord, may the prayers said using the rosaries skillfully crocheted bring a sense of warmth and peace in times of trouble and strife, for an end to war and protection for those using them.

Lord, we pray for all of those who have put their time and effort in learning and making the other items given to the needy and aged and for all of the blessings you have bestowed on them.

St. Brigid of Ireland
Patron saint of children and needlework makers,
Pray for us.
